Our story?
It started with a missed call.
One of us was trying to reach an embassy overseas. The kind of call where you wait on hold for 40 minutes, get disconnected, and have to start over. Except this time, the callback number didn't work with any app we tried. And the carrier rate? $2.50 per minute to sit in a queue.
That's when we asked: why is this still so hard?
Skype used to solve this. Then it didn't. The alternatives were either too expensive, too complicated, or built for enterprise sales teams—not regular people trying to make one important call.
So we started building, first, just a way to call from the browser. Then we thought, what if someone needs a number just for a week? Or a local number in a country they don't live in?
We kept pulling the thread.
Where we are now
Voklit isn't a big company. We're a small team that cares about getting this right. Every feature exists because someone actually needed it—usually us, or someone we know.
We're not trying to replace your phone. We're trying to be there for the calls your phone can't handle.
What's next
We're still building. SMS, voicemail transcriptions, better rates, more countries. The roadmap comes from real problems, not investor decks.
If you've ever been frustrated by international calling, you're exactly who we built this for.
